We usually celebrate other companies’ raises — but today, it’s our turn! Sightline Climate has raised $5.5m in seed funding, co-led by The Westly Group and Molten Ventures, to accelerate our AI-powered market intelligence platform for the global transition economy. Launched in late 2023, Sightline was designed to help corporates, financiers, and governments navigate the clean energy transition with real-time intelligence, trusted frameworks, and actionable insights. Since then, Sightline has already grown to 70+ international customers, including HSBC, Southern Company, BHP, Galvanize Climate Solutions, and the US Department of Energy. Combined with our 70,000+ CTVC newsletter subscribers, we’re building the go-to platform for navigating the global energy and industrial transition.
This seed round marks a pivotal moment for our growth. The Westly Group, a leading US venture firm focused on climate and mobility, and Molten Ventures, a top European investor with deep expertise in software and innovation, have joined forces to back Sightline. Their support brings a unique blend of global reach, sector experience, and conviction in our mission to become the go-to intelligence platform for the transition economy.
The transition to cleaner, cheaper, and more competitive energy and industrial systems is underway, but it faces its most significant challenges yet. AI-driven power demand is surging, US energy policies are shifting, net-zero commitments are wavering, and climate risks are escalating in a world that is warming beyond 1.5°C. At this critical juncture, companies and investors need trusted information and a clear line of sight to make the high-stakes decisions that will shape their strategies and capital allocation. Sightline was built for exactly this moment — to help decision-makers think bigger, go deeper, and act faster.
In just one year since its launch, Sightline has expanded rapidly. Today, we serve more than 70 international customers across leading corporates, financial institutions, and government agencies. Our client base includes household names such as HSBC, Southern Company, BHP, Galvanize Climate Solutions, and the US Department of Energy. Alongside these partners, our 70,000-strong CTVC community continues to grow, making 70 our lucky number.
Sightline is already being used to shape strategy, execute deals, and design public funding programs. For example, a major US utility relied on our platform to evaluate options such as nuclear, geothermal, renewables with storage, and abated gas to meet rising power demand from data centers and electrification. Our intelligence enabled them to assess the commercial viability, deliverability, and economic potential of each technology, ultimately aligning their strategy with real-world projects.
In the dealmaking space, Sightline supports more than 70 corporates, investors, and banks in mapping value chains, identifying leading technologies, and benchmarking emerging opportunities. A European energy company leveraged our data to partner with an enhanced geothermal company, while a corporate venture capital fund used our insights to build a winning case for a turquoise hydrogen investment. Global investment banks now use Sightline daily to originate transition-focused companies hitting commercial milestones and to identify investors for partnership.
Sightline also informs government action. One agency turned to our platform to identify transition sectors most in need of funding support, such as long-duration energy storage and low-carbon cement. Armed with this analysis, it was able to design targeted funding programs that bridge gaps and catalyze private investment in high-impact projects.
As the transition economy evolves, so do the tools required to understand it. The rise of artificial intelligence and large language models has created opportunities to integrate unstructured data and surface insights at unprecedented speed. But AI alone is not enough. The effectiveness of these tools depends on the frameworks that guide them, and that has always been Sightline’s edge.
We have built the most comprehensive taxonomy of the transition economy, tracking more than 600 sectors and connecting company, investment, project, and partnership data. By combining this framework with our research expertise, we provide customers with not only raw information but also the context and clarity to act. Our suite of intelligence tools — from the sector compass for navigating value chains, to notable projects for learning from real-world case studies, to sightlines that analyze market events in real time — ensures our customers are always ahead of the curve.
With this funding, we are expanding our platform and building deeper AI-powered tools to help customers monitor commercialization tipping points, evaluate the economics of technologies and projects, and identify the strategies and partnerships most relevant to them. Our mission is not just to provide data but to empower decision-makers with the intelligence they need to compete and win in the transition economy.
We are thrilled to partner with investors like The Westly Group and Molten Ventures as we enter our next phase of growth. With $5.5m in new funding, a strong and engaged customer base, and a growing team, we are ready to hit the accelerator. If you are passionate about shaping the future of the transition economy, we are hiring across engineering, research, and sales. And if you are an investor, corporate strategist, policymaker, or financier curious about what we do, now is the time to get in touch.
